Melody Place: bringing back the magic

By Bruce Firestone | Architecture

In the early days of the Ottawa Senators, it was all about creating magic in terms of building design and operation/presentation. The Palladium (now Canadian Tire Centre) was designed to model the Roman Coliseum and there was even talk about dressing servers and security personnel in Roman garb 😊

Modern game day entertainment/production in stadiums/arenas has become quite blah/meh/stale. Biggest additions in the last 30-years include in situ gambling on everything and anything, blasting music louder, bigger scoreboards, virtual ads on TV, virtual 50/50 draws, charging more for beer, more clubbing.

That’s why, in part, Melody Place is important to event venues everywhere… to help BRING BACK THE MAGIC.
