Bruce Firestone’s keynote at the Growing Rural Tourism Conference in Camrose, Alberta was so inspirational and spellbinding that he almost sold me a campground in rural Ontario!

I so enjoyed Prof Bruce’s presentation to our home-building group. Bruce is a born teacher, and I should know—I was one for many years. He’s very inspirational and extremely dynamic. I’d love for him to come to our area and show us how to animate our community and local economy.

Your presentation at the Founders Retreat was a highlight of the weekend. Interesting thoughts on Go to Market Engineering and the missing link which you are filling with Business Model Engineering. It seems obvious now that BME should come before GTM Engineering to make sure clients are offering the right products and services along with all the other aspects that go into perfecting business models these days. We've been thinking about it too.

Good evening, Prof Bruce. Well, we achieved our objective, notwithstanding some of the obstacles we encountered! We did it with determination that nothing is impossible. Bruce, your guidance and advice were instrumental in securing the end result and we are extremely grateful to you. You made sure that we kept our eyes on the prize

Bruce didn't just help us buy a property and a business. He helped us buy a better business than we initially thought we were acquiring. His ability to identify hidden value and create new revenue opportunities was amazing. Bruce tells me this is Business Model Engineering in the real world(ie, looking for ways to improve cash flow, create new revenue streams, unlock hidden value, and strengthen the long-term economics of the entire investment)and I believe him. What we bought was a self-storage operation together with approximately 40 acres of surplus industrial land at a price below appraised value. From the outset, Bruce focused not only on completing the acquisition and its financing but also on increasing the long-term value of the investment. Throughout the process, Bruce provided strategic advice on financing, land use, land use planning, and future development opportunities. One of his greatest strengths is his ability to identify the highest and best use of a property and then translate those ideas into practical business opportunities. He helped us rethink the business model by identifying additional recurring revenue streams, including outdoor storage for RVs, boats, vehicles, construction equipment, and shipping containers as well as contractor yards. These opportunities significantly expanded the property's long-term income potential beyond the existing self-storage operation. Bruce also recognized an opportunity to sell a small parcel of surplus land—less than one acre—to the County. The transaction established a higher benchmark value for the balance of the property, substantially increasing the overall appraised value of our holdings. His combination of strategic thinking, creativity, business acumen, and real estate expertise is genuinely uncommon.

Roy and I continue to grow our rental portfolio, Bruce. We are now at 16 units, which will soon be 20! The next two are semi-detached. This is keeping us both very busy. Conventional mortgages continue to be our main challenge, but we are happily working for ourselves thanks to our coach!

What made Bruce’s keynote really special was his charisma on stage; he can definitely charm a crowd. His content about entrepreneurship and the sense of humor in his presentation were awesome, but there’s really one thing that made it exceptional—his stories and case studies. They were powerful and motivational, especially the one on how he persevered in his battle to land an NHL team for Ottawa. That made me feel like I was capable of everything after his talk.

Bruce, you are truly an awesome person. Thank you for what you do for people like us—teaching us to be Firestone Institute co-coaches and giving us our own personal business models for success. We are all lucky to have you in our lives

Prof Bruce will show you, through his business and real estate investment coaching, how to create wealth over the long term as opposed to 'capture' it. There's a serious difference between the two (one is sustainable, the other is not).
