“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time. Like tears in rain. Time to die,”
Roy Batty’s final words at the end of Blade Runner.
Roy (played by Rutger Hauer, shown above) was a both repellent and attractive replicant, an advanced android with a 4-year lifespan, who eventually decides not to retire former police officer Rick Deckard (played by Harrison Ford).
Those last final words ring so true–all your memories and learning, washed away like tiny raindrops in a vast downpour, lost forever, the moment you pass away.
