What is more important in entrepreneurship?

My dad, professor OJ Firestone, and I used to argue (actually discuss is a better word) which is more important in business and entrepreneurship:

CHECK, CHECK, CHECK… EVERYTHING

Or

SALES, SALES, SALES… GENERATION

I talked up the latter; my dad the former.

Now I believe the two go hand in hand… what use are sales if you can’t deliver and what use is checking everything everything off your checklist if your sales suck… you’ll soon be out of business.

So even if you’re a flaming entrepreneur like moi, you have to teach yourself to be careful and to say what you’ll do and to do what you said you’d do…
