Now that Quebec City is officially in the running for an NHL expansion franchise, TSN decided today to revisit the day in 1990 when a Canadian city was last granted an expansion franchise, and the Ottawa Senators were reborn. The above photo is a screenshot of TSN’s homepage showing John Ziegler (on the right) and me with arms overhead, held up in victory. Not shown is Phil Esposito, who represented the other successful applicant (Tampa Bay). He is to John’s left.
