Sometimes Combining Two Unrelated Things Makes Sense

Sometimes combining two seemingly unrelated things, makes sense.

A former school principal wants to start a new enterprise: Learning Centers for kids.

She asks me, “How much will it cost to set up our first space?”

My answer?

“Close to zero.”

“Huh?”

“Close to zero,” I repeat. “I’ll introduce you to some of the people I know who run existing co-working spaces. They are always looking for more activities/clients/tenants to fill up their labs, so why not fill them up with kids, especially the shoulder hours when demand is lowest from adults and highest from kids?”

As former NHL coach Jacques Martin used to say, “Every goal you save, is two you don’t have to score.”

Every dollar you don’t spend is like two you don’t have to make…
