Prof Bruce in touch with the planet
Here’s me communing with an outcropping that is at least 1.5 billion years old.
This formation has been uplifted, exposing its surface to sunrises and sunsets, possibly after the end of the last ice age.
When the 1,000 to 2,000 meters of ice retreated, the earth’s crust groaned with relief as the weight of frozen water was lifted… so the surface of the planet rebounded (upwards).
Think about it? This rock has witnessed 1.096 trillion sunrises and sunsets.
It’s unimaginable, and certainly too long a time for any human to truly comprehend.
