I helped one of my five kids (my middle daughter–Mimi) buy a home.
She needed $100,000 for her downpayment and some renos. The rest she could finance via a mortgage.
Miriam put up $5k and pops put up the rest; during the buying process she asked: “But it’s still 50-50 right, Dad?”
That’s kid arithmetic.
And, yes, Miriam, it’s still 50-50.
I mean, what is the purpose of life if not to help your children, spouse, friends, neighbors and community?
Love you Meemsie,
Pops
