Indie songwriter Michelle Lewis, shown above, penned a tune (Wings) for British girl group Little Mix that was streamed over 3,000,000 times on Spotify. Hallelujah, you might be thinking.
But whoa, Ms Lewis received a check from the streaming service for her work in the princely amount of $17.72.
If creatives don’t find a way to get more value for the work they do, they’ll go extinct.
