Great Use of the Public Room
Urban planners love their 6-meter planting buffers which usually grow nothing but weeds, litter and vermin.
They also cause ROWs (rights of way) to be vast unbounded no-places, safe only for vehicles traveling at speed.
On my walk today, I noticed this use–turning public lands into a flower and veggie garden.
Of course, you can get arrested for this.
Listen and learn about Ron Finley’s experience with planting vegetable gardens in South Central LA, in abandoned lots, in traffic medians and in buffer zones.
Ron says, “The drive-thrus are killing more people than the drive-bys.”
