Here is a series of videos (some of them short, some quite lengthy) that includes my thoughts on the founding of the NHL’s modern day Ottawa Senators, one of the original franchises when the National League was first established in 1917. The Sens, winners of 9 Stanley Cups, remained active in the league until 1933 when, in the midst of the depression, they relocated to St Louis. They played there for a year before terminating operations until they were resurrected by a dedicated group of Ottawa fans, sponsors, politicians and business people, beginning play again in October 1992, after a nearly 60-year hiatus.
