Believe it or not I actually built an outdoor cinema back in the day at Lansdowne Park to show classics like Dumb & Dumber, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Rocky Horror. We called it “Zinemax”.
Things that attracted folks to sit on bleachers to watch movies included:
1. smoking (mostly weed I think)
2. novelty
3. family event (OK, not Rocky Horror or Pulp Fiction)
4. cheap date
